Sometimes life brings you to a point where you have to re-invent yourself. When your routine as you know it is no more. It is a chance to be anything and everything you want to be. A couple of years ago I found my self at that particular cross road. I lost my job and because of the economy, finding a new job with flexible schedule and decent pay was next to impossible. I had to think fast! I’ve had a job ever since I was old enough to work, so it was really odd for me to all of the sudden face the possibility of staying home and not have a place to go on a daily basis. I needed to find something I could do from home so I wouldn’t have to send my kids to daycare and to supplement my husband’s income. Then it came to me! I had refinished furniture for my home and for my mother’s. Why not do it for other people???
I invested a little bit of money and quite a bit of time and here we are now…
that’s how Simple Matters got started.
It is all about second chances and new beginnings. Not only I have a new beginning by discovering the joys and hard work of owning a business and being a mom, but I feel that I bring new life and a new chance to otherwise old and forgotten furniture. I am happy and proud of myself.
