I painted a gray desk a while back and while I thought it was just lovely, no one wanted to take it home. In a weird way, this made me very happy because it is now MY desk!!!
(I’ll get to the point in just a minute) I received an email a few weeks ago from a wonderful lady who lives in Austin asking me for a quote on several pieces she wanted to have painted for her house. I quoted a buffet, china hutch, dining table and chairs. She knew she wanted the pieces painted, she just didn’t know what color. She had several colors in mind but she didn’t LOVE any of them.
After we agreed to the pricing, her mother dropped off one of the pieces. A gorgeous buffet.
A few days after that, Courtney came down from Austin to drop off the rest of the pieces, the china hutch, the table and 6 chairs.
notice the sad, dingy looking upholstery
I showed her several color samples based on the colors she had metiones. Nothing really jumped at her. Then she started walking around looking at my furniture and she stopped at my desk… That was it!
She loved the beautiful shade of gray with a little bit of the white primer peeking through. After talking working out some of the finer details, this is how her pieces turned out.
The buffet… gorgeous!
The legs are just to die for
I couldn’t take a picture of the entire set because I am running out of room but you get the idea
The table top is white to brighten things up and the base gray with slight touches of white
The chairs are now all gray and soon will have little pleated white covers
The interior of the china hutch is white to show off Courtney Grandmother’s china
She was sooo happy when all of her pieces arrived to her home. I hope she sends some pictures when the room is all set and decorated. Thank you Courtney for giving me the opportunity to work on these fabulous pieces!
